How the four resources interconnect
The progressive pathway
The four FAITH resources form a natural progression from new believer to reproducing disciple:
Stage 1: New Believer (First Month)
- Primary Resource: Simple FAITH
- Question: What do I need to know and do?
- Focus: Basic understanding and initial practices.
- Outcome: Clear grasp of the gospel and foundational Christian practices.
Stage 2: Growing Believer (Months 2-4)
- Primary Resource: FAITH Foundations
- Question: Why do these things matter, and how do I do them from grace?
- Focus: Deeper understanding and grace-based motivation.
- Outcome: Solid foundation and sustainable spiritual habits.
Stage 3: Established Believer (Months 4-12)
- Primary Resource: VICTORY
- Question: How do I live from my identity in Christ?
- Focus: Preventing/correcting performance-based patterns.
- Outcome: Living from grace rather than striving for approval.
Stage 4: Maturing Believer (Year 2+)
- Primary Resource: FAITH Plus
- Question: How do I grow toward maturity and reproduce disciples?
- Focus: Comprehensive discipleship and reproduction.
- Outcome: Equipped to make disciples who make disciples.
The interconnections
Whilst the resources form a natural progression, they’re also deeply interconnected:
Simple FAITH introduces concepts FAITH Foundations expands:
- Simple FAITH: “God loves you unconditionally”
- FAITH Foundations: Explores why this matter and how it transforms your relationship with God.
FAITH Foundations establishes truths VICTORY applies daily:
- FAITH Foundations: “You’re saved by grace, not works”
- VICTORY: Shows you how to live from that grace daily in every situation.
VICTORY prevents dysfunction FAITH Plus addresses:
- VICTORY: Teaches you to live from your identity, not for approval.
- FAITH Plus: Builds on that secure identity with advanced training.
FAITH Plus equips you to teach Simple FAITH and Foundations:
- By completing FAITH Plus, you can confidently disciple others through the entire pathway.
How they work together
Think of the four resources as layers:
Layer 1 (Simple FAITH): Foundation stones – the essential basics.
Layer 2 (FAITH Foundations): Framework – why and how from grace.
Layer 3 (VICTORY): Daily living – applying grace to everything.
Layer 4 (FAITH Plus): Full structure – comprehensive maturity
You can’t skip layers. Trying to use FAITH Plus without Simple FAITH and Foundations is like building a third floor without first and second floors. The structure collapses.
But once you’ve built each layer, they all work together. A mature believer uses:
- Simple FAITH truths daily (returning to basics regularly).
- FAITH Foundations insights constantly (understanding why and how).
- VICTORY principles moment by moment (living from grace).
- FAITH Plus wisdom is increasingly growing in maturity.
Revisiting resources
You don’t “finish” these resources and never return. Mature Christians regularly revisit earlier materials:
Return to Simple FAITH when:
- You’ve drifted from foundational practices.
- You’re discipling someone new in the faith.
- You need to remember the basics that matter most.
Return to FAITH Foundations when:
- You notice performance patterns creeping back.
- You’re struggling with guilt or spiritual exhaustion.
- You need to remember why you practice spiritual disciplines.
Return to VICTORY when:
- You feel you’re striving rather than resting.
- Circumstances are challenging, and you need the gospel truth applied.
- You want to refresh your understanding of who you are in Christ.
Return to FAITH Plus when:
- You’re facing complex theological questions.
- You need wisdom for difficult life situations.
- You’re preparing to teach or disciple others.
Discipleship is cyclical. You spiral upward, revisiting truths at deeper levels throughout your life.
